******* Here are some more family pics to show that we don't play games all day. We read the kids plenty of books and play outside often. I did have to throw in a pic of him playing Wii though, I couldn't resist. He has only played Wii once, and I need to re-emphasize that we only play 2-3 hours a week and only dressed up on 1 Halloween. Almost all the negative feedback we have received so far thinks that all we do is play and dress up as Mario. Also I have promised him that when he gets older he will get to marry Princess Peach and have already hired a psychiatrist for when he finds out there isn't one. He is also getting tired of eating nothing but mushrooms for the last 2 years, but he can jump really high!!!!! LOL (sarcasm)******
**I added a couple more pics today. The 2 w/ Xbox controllers were from when he was a few weeks old and they were purely jokes!! I didn't by any means start him gaming at that age, but I thought the pics were sweet. The next pic shows my system diversity, so you don't have to worry about him only playing Nintendo. Don't worry all you haters, I won't let him play that many hours a week!! The last pic is an average day in our household to show you that we don't dress up as Mario characters on a regular basis.
*****In response to all the negative feedback I have received so far, I would like everyone to know that we only dressed up as Mario and Luigi for Halloween and I thought it would be sweet to take a couple pics and have fun dropping him in the game. We only actually play Mario 2-3 hours a week unlike 40 like some of you may think. I actually play Halo 2 most of the time, but don't think it is an appropriate game for him to be playing or watching.********************************
*******************I just finished Photoshoping my 2 yr. old son into some stellar Mario scenes. He loves his Mario room and outfit. My wife and my mom also chipped in on the room with their sewing skills. They made curtains, a pillow case and a comforter w/ red M's sewn on them. He has now graduated to playing Mario Sunshine which is one the all time best games. I thought you gamers out there would love these pics!!
I was born back in 1976, so I have been playing video games for a long time now. When I was really young I used to play my grandma's Radioshack version of Pong. Later on my dad bought me an Atari VCS and I fell in love with Moon Patrol, River Raid, Demon Attack, and Cosmic Arc along w/ many others. But by far my crowning gaming memory was the 1st time I picked up Super Mario Bros. for the NES. Never before or after has a game made such a leap (for its time) in imagination, game play, and overall presentation. It was light years ahead of any other game before it. I 1st played it at my cousin's house and was in so much awe that I didn't go to bed until 5:30 a.m.. I got sucked into its originality and freshness. Since then there have been many more great games like GoldenEye and Halo 2,(which I can't stop playing online under the gamertag Metalproduction) but I always like to go back to the classics. If current gen games can somehow incorporate this kind of leap in entertainment value, the video game industry would grow at an unprecedented pace. Now that I have a son who is 2 yrs. old I decided to start him off right by painting a Mario Mural on his wall. We also dressed up as Mario and Luigi for Halloween this year. I got him started playing Super Mario Bros., but at 2 he has a hard time running where he wants to go. He usually just jumps up and down and presses pause a lot.
